Congratulations! Your building has been through all the required inspections and you can now be issued a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) or a Temporary Occupancy (TO) Permit.
A Certificate of Occupancy is the key document used to certify the legal use and occupancy of a building. The Certificate describes how a building may be occupied, for example, a two-family home, a parking lot, a 40-unit multiple dwelling, or a store.
A Temporary Occupancy (TO) Permit may be issued in place of a CO and allow the building to be used. Staff members will issue a TO Permit to a building as long as the remaining compliance issues do not pose a threat to the Public. |
